Green Materials: Energy Savers
Many product manufacturers are introducing new construction applications. New to the market are types of plywood that resist moisture and mold. There are also house wrap and vapor barrier techniques that save home heating and cooling costs. Foundation wall products like ICF technologies with below-grade house wrap will save on energy, as will insulating below the concrete basement floor. Window manufacturers and type of materials used for the actual construction of windows can definitely make a difference when it comes to preventing heat loss, as well as using the proper techniques during installation. High-efficiency furnaces and energy-efficient appliances will save many thousands of dollars in the long run. With proper furnace applications we can even improve the quality of the indoor air we breathe.
Water Efficiency
Installation of flash hot water units are becoming very popular, along with radiant heat applications. Simple applications like insulating copper pipes contribute to energy savings.
Recycled Materials
Many products are made from recycled materials like siding and shingles. Many construction companies mix demolished materials together. Our team adds an additional clean-fill bin or aluminum recycling bin on site in order to reduce the amount going into the local landfill.
Heating Systems
Radiant heat has many uses and is very flexible. Radiant heat lines can be incorporated under concrete slab floors, inside wood floors, showers, and even under the outside sidewalk. Radiant heat also does not use recycled air, so it is a great way to help protect your house from dust and germs.
Insulated Concrete Forms (ICF)
This has been one of the most interesting construction applications our team has used. Essentially, Styrofoam forming allows for walls to be pre-constructed and ready-forming. The Styrofoam blocks stay in place with the new concrete allowing for an increased R value. Block features include mounting strips which make interior & exterior finishing easy.
Generators
This is a great product so you never have to worry about the electricity going out in your home.An emergency power standby generator will produce electricity as soon as it detects a power outage, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
